Tom Busby on How He Uses eSignal and QuoTrek

I have been trading the S&P 500 futures market since 1982 and the German DAX futures since September 2001. I have professionally traded my own account for almost 30 years and manage a fund via Rydex Funds. From my own experience, I can tell you that eSignal and QuoTrek are excellent tools for the professional trader.

I have personally used eSignal for data for more than a decade. The data is versatile enough to handle any of the exchanges I need, and it is also extremely reliable. I have so much confidence in eSignal that when I decided to develop my own software, the Global RoadMap, I had the programmer make eSignal the primary data source.

The charts and studies in eSignal are very easy to manipulate and read. The historical information is also key when I am trying to gather numbers to look at where we have been trading in the last 12 months, the last month, the last day, even the last hour.

QuoTrek allows for mobility and is accessible pretty much anywhere you can get a satellite signal. It is sometimes even more reliable than a cell phone signal! QuoTrek has taken the chains off that tied me to the quote machine for so many years. The two main features of QuoTrek that help me trade are the quotes powered from the eSignal application I have on my PC and the instantaneous Internet access.

Most traders know that seconds count in today’s marketplace, and eSignal and QuoTrek allow me to take advantage of those moves. With QuoTrek, I can watch some of my major market indicators, including those listed on the Eurex, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.

The data provides me with a glimpse of factors that are important to me, including the Open, High, Low and Close of that particular indicator. It gives me up-to-the-second price action, along with the net percent change for that trading day. These are all integral parts of my trading strategy.

QuoTrek also offers Internet access to many of the investment websites I may need to log into throughout the course of the trading day. I can check my net positions on my Etrade or my Ameritrade account as well and actually enter orders on my QuoTrek device.

THOMAS' EDUCATOR CREDENTIALS

Tom Busby has been day trading the S&P 500 Futures since its inception in 1982, as well as actively trading the E-minis since 1996 and the DAX since 2001. The heart of his teaching is his RoadMap to the Markets, an innovative tool that comprises critical time zones, key numbers and significant market directional indicators.

Tom’s students praise his ability to demystify the world of futures trading and explain the language of the financial markets in simple, understandable terms. They appreciate his genuine enthusiasm for the art of trading, combined with his prudent regard for capital preservation.

He founded his company, DTI, in a three-room suite with only a couple of employees. In 2001, it opened the doors of its 10,000 square foot facility, and Tom's dream became a reality. DTI now trains traders and investors from all over the globe.
